AR averts tragedy after LPG tanker meets accident

Senapati, February 03 2025: Assam Rifles troops exhibited courage and presence of mind by swiftly responding to an LPG tanker accident near Don Bosco College Girls' hostel at Maram bazar, Senapati district on Monday.

The accident along the National Highway No 2, led to gas leakage, posing significant threat to people living in nearby areas.

Quickly responding to an alarming situation, Assam Rifles personnel with fire extinguishers rushed to the spot and isolated the area of gas leak.

Traffic from both ends of the highway was halted for some time to safeguard commuters.

The troops thereafter carried out rapid evacuation of the hostellers to a secure place.

The swift reaction by Assam Rifles troops thus averted a major tragedy for which the locals expressed sincere gratitude.
