AR inaugurates literary meet, conducts Swachhta drive

Imphal, October 02 2024: With the aim to ignite passion for literature among young minds, Assam Rifles inaugurated annual literary meet at St Joseph's School in Chandel district on Tuesday, informed PRO IGAR (S) in a release, adding that Assam Rifles also distributed games and sports equipment to the school as a part of the programme.

On the other hand, Assam Rifles organised Swachhta drive in collaboration with villagers in Chandel and Thoubal districts on Monday in connection with the nationwide Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to raise awareness about cleanliness, hygiene, and the importance of a healthier lifestyle in rural communities.

As part of the events, an awareness rally and a lecture on sanitation and hygiene were conducted followed by mass tree plantation, said the PRO in another release.
