CRPF units promote 'Fit India' campaign, aid Relief Centre

Mantripukhri headquartered 69th Bn CRPF organised a 'Fit India Cycling Drive' to promote the 'Sunday on Cycle' campaign, which is aimed at fostering the principles of the Fit India Movement by encouraging CRPF personnel and local communities to adopt fitness as an integral part of their daily lives.
The cycling rally commenced from the battalion headquarters, under the leadership of second-in-command Harji Lal Bairwa, deputy commandant Yogendra Kumar Mishra, and assistant commandant K Kabi Singh.
The route covered all inter-village roads in Mantripukhri area.
During the event, members of the public were inspired to participate in the "Fit India Cycling Drive" to further promote the "Sunday on Cycle" campaign, according to a press release issued by the CRPF unit.
On the other-hand, CRPF, Saikul Manipur Camp organised a Civic Action Programme at the Songpehjang Kuki Relief Centre during which items such as blankets for senior citizens, solar study lamps with batteries for students, volleyballs, volleyball nets, badminton nets, badminton rackets, and shuttlecocks were distributed.
These items were provided to residents of the Songpehjang Relief Centre, as well as the local population of Songpehjang and Thankanphai in Saikul.
Additionally, refreshments, including chocolates, tea, and snacks, were shared with children and attendees.
The programme saw the participation of officers and personnel from the 133rd Battalion CRPF, the village chief, and approximately 150 villagers.
The village chief expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting its significance for the local community.
Meanwhile, 133rd Bn commandant assured continued support to the community and expressed hope for the normalisation of the situation through joint efforts.
Also in attendance were Dr Jay Surya, CMO(SG); Bhawani Pratap Yadav, 2-I/C; Baban Kumar Singh, D/C; Neyaz Ahmad, A/C; Navin Kumar, A/C; and the village chief of Songpehjarig, Lhunjang Lupheng.
