'Ex-military chief' returns to ZUF

Imphal, January 22 2022: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has informed that its "former military chief" has re-joined the front.

In a statement, ZUF said that it extended a "homecoming welcome to Lungpuibam Kamei alias Abung, a former military chief of ZUF, who had been misled by Raitu Chawang and S Kamson gang, who has re-joined the mainstream ZUF of his own volition..." "...lie realised that joining the Naga faction was an act of betrayal to his own Zeliangrong political cause.

He regretted to have been misled and wasted his time with the defected group.

The defected group led by Raitu Chawang & S Kamson after being merged to NSCN-U could not represent the Zeliangrong people or carry the name of ZUF anymore, as the trust of the people is lost.," Lungpuibam was quoted as saying by ZUF in its press statement.
