Imphal, November 19 2021: United Committee Manipur (UCM) on Friday opened its Tengnoupal Block unit along with appointing new office bearers of the unit with Saillon Asan Aimol as chairman, Ln Rengchongkhup as vice chairman, Thamson Sailesh Tarao as general secretary, S Rangsuaril as youth affairs secretary and SL Kholianthang as treasury secretary while Sh Rengsin-gir and S Alian Song are the members.

The opening programme held at Aimol Khodomphai community hall was attended by Kh Sumsuangir alias Chingsanglakpa, UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam and Aimol Cultural Association secretary Sh Rongeisan as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Joychandra explained that aim of opening UCM units in the hills is for bringing an egalitarian society so as to ensure prevalence of peace and harmony in the state.

More such units will be opened in other areas also and the units will work to address the problems faced by the people in the hill areas as well as opening up communication channel between the hill and valley people, he added.
