Anti-drug rally taken out in Lilong

Imphal, May 19 2022: BJP Lilong Mandal organised a public rally against drug trafficking and abuse in Lilong area with the slogan to eradicate all kinds of drugs and intoxicants.

Interacting with the media on the sidelines, BJP Lilong Mandal president SM Tamijur Rahman said that the Mandal fully supports the Biren government's War on Drugs campaign and the rally was organised to show support to the call made by the chief minister.

Different CSOs and local clubs have been carrying out drives against drugs and extending support to law enforcing agencies of the government in crackdown against drugs in Lilong area.

BJP Mandal also supports the participation of public in the fight, he said.

Regarding the involvement of several residents of Lilong in illegal drug trades, the Mandal president said that it acknowledges the fact and the rally was organised with the objective to send out a strong message to the youth of Lilong to stay away from such illegal trades and to contribute in saving the future of the society.

He also said that those involved in the illegal drug trade are selfish people and many of them are being misguided by some individuals.

The rally started from Lilong Keithel and culminated near Lilong police station.
