Imphal, September 08 2022: The 12th Ching Tam Traditional and Cultural Festival organised by Temple of Universal Peace Awareness cum Arts and Culture Academy concluded at the academy on Thursday.

UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam, JN Manipur Dance Academy director Pukhrambam Bilash and SIRD joint director Okram Lokendro attended the closing ceremony of the month-long festival as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Joychandra highlighted the rich art and culture of the state and stressed the need for promoting them.

He called for promoting indigenous games like Sagol Kangjei, Kang and Yubi Lakpi.

He also expressed concern over the dying traditions of Leikai Shinglup, Khullang, Umang Lai Haraoba, Khongjom Parva, Khullang Ishei among others.
