Imphal, February 01 2023: In continuation of the campaign for ensuring self-sufficiency in food production, the Moirang unit of United Committee Manipur (UCM) and SECALC, Naransena jointly conducted a one day Workshop on Formation of Farmer Producer Organ isation (FPO) for Chak-Hao Growers at Naransena SEVALC ground on Wednesday.

In a release, UCM IPR secretary Leisemba Lamabam informed that the programme was attended by SSB assistant commandant (retired) Maishanam Prem, retired head master Salam Mani Singh, social workers Moirangthem Babudon & NK Manihar, UCM secretary organisation Santa Nahakpam, secretary finance N Jiban and UCM Moirang Unit president L Manglem Singh as members of the dais while retired AO agriculture L Sanatomba Singh and Agriculture Department MOVCDNER project officer Kh Nimaichand Singh were present as resource persons.

Speaking on the occasion, Santa Nahakpam informed that the workshop has been organised for 'Chak-Hao' farmers as part of its campaign to improve the economy of Manipur.

Santa also conveyed that the workshop's focus will be on establishing a FPO for 'Chak-Hao' farmers of Moirang and various schemes that could be availed by FPOs from the government.
