Imphal, January 18 2022: Caitnya Institute of Sankirtana organised premiere show of a Goura Leela at Lairen Sajik community hall on Tuesday.

The event was attended by Mayang Langjing ZP member Keisham Sohodeba, Ranganiketan chairman Prabhu Ajit Das and cultural activist Irengbam Shyamchand as presidium members.

Speaking at the event, Caitnya secretary T Nanaotomba informed that Goura Leela, which is one of the dying art forms of Manipur has not been played in this part of the state for a very long time.

Owing to this, the younger generations has no knowledge of the art form, he noted and mentioned that the play was showcased to familiarise the people, especially the younger generations with the Goura Leela art form, which has unique significance in the culture of Manipur.
