Mega event, 'Day at AR Camp' held

Assam Rifles organised a week-long mega event themed "Empowering Women and Children for a Brighter Future", which garnered a positive response from the local bommunity and provided a platform for empowerment, education, cultural exchange and awareness.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the event held over a course of one week aimed to engage and uplift women and children through various activities, including career counselling, motivational lectures, screenings, cultural dances, yoga sessions, and a mobile library.
Additionally, school children received stationery and study materials.
The events took place across Aibol Joupi, Ko vang, Wayang, Sehlon, New Samtal, and Old Samtal in Chandel district.
A total of 974 villagers, including women and children, participated in the events with great enthusiasm, fostering joy and unity while strengthening the bond between the locals and the Assam Rifles, the PRO said in a release.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles hosted a "Day at the Assam Rifles Camp" for NCC cadets at Veng Camp, Churachandpur on Thursday.
The action-packed day was designed to give 59 enthusiastic cadets from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tuinom, first-hand glimpse into life at the camp.
Both boys and girls were welcomed with open arms.
The adventure kicked off with a camp tour that left everyone buzzing with curiosity.
The company commander's speech about the Armed Forces motivated the cadets to join the Indian Armed Forces.
The cadets then engaged in fun sports, games, and even had a friendly competition that ended with well-earned prizes, informed another the release issued by the PRO.
