'Basant Utsav' Festival of Culture held

Imphal, July 01 2022: Under the aegis of Department of Art and Culture, Sheidamkol organised 'Basant Utsav' Festival of Culture at Gurumayum Mandap, Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai on Wednesday.

The festival was attended by MAHUD minister Y Khemchand as chief guest and Keishamthong MLA Nishikant Sapam as president, while JN Manipur Dance Academy director P Bilash and Rang Niketan chairman Ajit Das were present as guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, minister Khemchand assured of extending all possible assistance for preserving the art form of Nat Sankritan.

He continued that Nat Sankritan was admitted to UNESCO at the same time as the Great Wall of China.

Although the latter did not face any issues, Nat Sankritan took some time due to carelessness, he added.
