Churachandpur, January 31 2022:
After the party denied ticket to him, BJP Churachandpur district president and ADC Churachandpur ex-chairman Khaipao Haokip has resigned from primary membership of the party and joined National People's Party (NPP) to contest the election from 59-Saikot assembly constituency of Churachandpur district.
Announcing this in front of his supporters and media persons at his New Boljang residence on Monday, Khaipao Haokip said that he rendered selfless sacrifice for BJP for the past many years but it was very unfair of the party to issue the ticket to a person who is unknown to the party and yet to be enrolled as party member.
He also said that his house where BJP Churachandpur unit office was opened will no longer be used by the party.
Later, Khaipao Haokip's supporters pulled down BJP flags and banners hoisted in and around his residential campus and walls of community hall located nearby and held an induction ceremony to NPP.
NPP Churachandpur district president V Chinkhenpau inducted Khaipao Haokip to the party and presented him NPP stole and cap as well as to all members of his Central Election Committee.
