CRPF units observe National Unity Day

CRPF battalions operating in the state organised unity runs at different locations to commemorate National Unity Day on Tuesday.
Among the units, Mantripukhri headquartered 69 Bn CRPF observed National Unity Day held in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the 'Iron Man of India', recognising his pivotal, role in uniting the country post-independence.
As a part of the observance, commandant SA Rojan Zimik flagged off 'Run for Unity', participated by over 150 personnel and officers to promote fitness and unity, followed by all ranks taking collective pledge to uphold the values of unity and integrity, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness.
Similarly, National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was observed by 143 Bn CRPF with second in-command Yaikhom Nandakishore Singh lead 'Unity Run' from Kangla Fort to the battalion headquarters at Lamphelpat.
CRPF officers and personnel along with family members, students, and guests from Khulem Leikai Senior High School, participated in the Unity Run.
A pledge taking ceremony was also conducted to strengthen the democratic values and sovereignty of India.
86 Bn CRPF also observed Rashtriya Ekta Divas by organising 'Run for Unity' from its Lamphelpat headquarters to RIMS gate on Tuesday.
The run was participated by officers and men of the battalion along with local youth of nearby areas.
In his address, second in-command Ravindra Kumar reflected on importance of Rashtriya Ekta Divas and encouraged the participants to unite in making India a nation of 'one people, one dream and one destiny'.
109 Bn CRPF also commemorated 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' at Mongsangei, commencing with a pledge taking ceremony to uphold national unity in the presence of commandant Govind Prasad Uniyal, CMO (SG) Thokchom Motilal Singh, 11/C (Ops) Vinod Sawant, D/C Parvinder Kaur, D/C N Gomti Chanu, officers and personnel.
