AR, BSF units celebrate Amrit Mahotsav

Sajik Tampak Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a quiz competition at St Mary's School in Khollen village of Chandel district on Thursday to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to pay tribute to national heroes of India's freedom movement.
According to PRO IGAR (S), questions on India's Freedom Movement and history of Manipur were asked during the quiz competition, which was organised to instil patriotic feeling among young minds by making them aware of the various facets of freedom achieved and sacrifices made in the freedom movement.
Children from Khollen village participated in the quiz competition with full zeal and enthusiasm.
School staff and parents of children expressed their gratitude and appreciated efforts of Assam Rifles to inspire young minds and generate a sense of patriotism amongst them, said the PRO.
Meanwhile, as a part of commemorating the 75th Independence Day 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav', Border Security Force (BSF) CI Ops Manipur, organised a Fit India Movement Run 2.0 at BSF Koirengei Campus.
In a release, BSF deputy commandant Md Rashid Reza informed that the 5-km run participated by officers and troops of SHQ BSF Koirengei, was held under the supervision of DIG SHQ BSF CI (Ops) Dinesh Singh Rawat.
In the run up of the event, banners and hoardings on benefits of physical activities were displayed in the campus.
The event is observed with an aim to imbibe the countless benefits of fitness and to lead a healthy lifestyle, added the release.
