Imphal, July 21 2022:
Voluntary Youth Development Organisation (VYDO) has urged the relevant authorities not to shift the proposed Sangai Ethnic Park from Keibul Lamjao National Park (KLNP) .
VYDO in a press release said that the locals residing in the surrounding areas of KLNP have been striving relentlessly to protect the endangered deer 'Sangai' and its natural habitat for decades.
Stating that the construction of an ethnic park in KLNP will help in boosting the tourism industry and in letting the world know more about the endangered deer species, the organisation urged the Government to stick to the promise of constructing the park in KLNP and not in some other areas which have no connection with Sangai.
VYDO also opined that the construction of the ethnic park in KLNP will pose no threat in the ecosystem of Keibul Lamjao National Park which is home to the protected deer species, added the release.
