AMTUC raises objection to registration bid

Imphal, September 20 2021: All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC), Babupara has raised objection to registration of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC), Lamphel Sana Keithel under the Registrar of Trade Unions, Manipur.

In a letter addressed to the Registrar on Monday, AMTUC general secretary Rajkumar Basumani Singh stated that AMTUC Babupara, which is a constituent of the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of AMTUC and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) strongly objects to the registration of another union bearing the same name and title, as it will cause duplicity.

It further stated that JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO, Manipur is the only apex organisation recognised by the state government and covering all the employees and workers under the Manipur government.

Moreover, the body has been in existence since the early 1970s with its head office at Babupara, it added.

AMTUC reiterated that the registration proposal submitted by another organisation bearing the same name and title should not be entertained.
