AR hosts three-day community event in Chandel

Imphal, July 20 2024:
Assam Rifles organised a community event in Old Samtal, Chandel district, from July 17 to July 19 to strengthen community ties, promote health, education, and creativity, and provide entertainment for all ages.
The event featured a range of activities, including a tree plantation drive, a friendly volleyball match, a comprehensive medical health camp, and a drawing and painting competition for encouraging young talents to express their creativity and hone their skills, a PRO IGAR (S) press release said.
The event kicked off with a tree plantation drive, during which villagers and AR together planted 2000 saplings.
On the other hand, a medical health camp was held with 81 children and 100 villagers receiving free check-ups and consultations.
Additionally, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Assam Rifles delivered an informative lecture on hypertension, raising awareness and given valuable health tips to the community, the release further informed.
Also, a mobile library and movie screening were set up to foster a love for reading and learning.
The event culminated in a flag hoisting ceremony, symbolising unity and pride, it added.
