3 held for hate-post against CM

Imphal, December 19 2024: Imphal police arrested three administrators of a Facebook Page for uploading a threatening post against chief minister N Biren and his cabinet members on Wednesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ningombam Dingku (22) of Leirongthel Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district, Malemnganba Laithangbam (21) of Kwakeithel Makha Leikai in Imphal West district, and Thongam Romen (39) of Keirak Mayai Leikai in Kakching district.

Imphal police station registered a case after a post was uploaded on the Facebook page, threatening acts of violence against the CM and his cabinet members, and arrested the trio on Wednesday.

They were produced before the duty magistrate, Imphal West who remanded them to five days in police custody for further investigation.
