Imphal, December 14 2024: Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Manipur Administrative Committee, Bashikhong Zilla Parishad and Thongju Apunba Cluster Level Federation jointly observed 85th Nupi Lal Memorial Day at Koirou Lai Shumang community hall on Thursday.

A release issued by IDS informed that the observance was attended by Bashikhong ZP member Jasowanta Chirom as chief guest, IDS chairperson Prof N Mohendro as president, and Nk Bimola Devi, Hanjabam Shubhra Devi and Rk Dilip Singh as guests of honour.

Floral tributes were paid to the photographs of Nupi Lal martyrs and a two-minute silence was observed in respect of the women leaders who sacrificed their lives in the fight against British in 1939, the release added.
