Legal awareness prog organised

Imphal, November 12 2021:
In connection with the AzadiKa Amrit Mahotsav and Pan-India legal Awareness and Outreach Programme, District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Chandel in association with National Commission for Women organised a legal awareness programme at Sinadam Village community hall on Thursday.
The programme was organised on the theme of 'Empowerment of The Rights of Women in Hill Areas' under the 'Empowerment of Women through Legal Awareness' project.
During the programme, advocate Kshetrimayum Sarankumar spoke on the topic of 'Eradication of violence and discrimination against women in the society and how to tackle it on time' and advocate Kh Jacky Lucy Lamkang on 'Gender sensitisation in the Patriarchal society'.
The programme was also attended by ASHA and Anganwadi workers, One Stop Centre Chandel members and local GSOs.
Pamphlets containing information on free legal services, POCSO Act 2021 and One Stop Centre, along with posters written in different languages were also distributed at the event.
As part of the campaign, painting and essay competitions were also organised at children's homes and observation homes in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts.
