AR conducts science competition, dedicates basketball court

Imphal, February 11 2025: With theaim to inspire young girls pursue education and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Assam Rifles on Monday organised a science competition in connection with the observance of International Day of Women and Girls in Science at All Community Welfare School,-Moreh in Tengnoupal district.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the competition featuring four teams, each consisting of four girls, sought to reignite interest in education, spark curiosity and build confidence, demonstrating that despite the challenges, learning and scientific exploration can still thrive.

On the other hand, Assam Rifles handed over a newly constructed a state-of-the-art basketball court at Kachai village, Ukhrul district, the first of its kind in the area, to promote sports, teamwork and healthy lifestyle among the youth of Kachai, students of Alfa Christian School and neighbouring villages.

The project was officially handed over to Ukhrul SDC Riamei Jangmei and Kachai village headman Mingthing R Shimtay on Monday, the PRO added.
