Need proper guidance for youth: Pooja Elangbam

Imphal, April 10 2022: SDO Porompat, Imphal East Pooja Elangbam has stressed the need for giving proper guidance to the youth in order to bring about a better society.

Attending the 19th foundation day celebration of Young Christian Pioneers' Academy (YCPA), Imphal East held at Selloi Langmai Ching Makhapat ground on Sunday, Pooja said that youth of the present generation are abusing drugs and alcohol.

It is unfortunate for the society and its future.

In order to bring about a better future, the youth need to be given proper guidance so that they could fully channelize their potentials and knowledge for the society.

Education is a must to build character of the youth and it does not necessarily mean academic education but also in other sectors including sports, which plays a major role in instilling discipline among the youth.

YCPA is contributing immensely in this field and the public need to support the academy in its activities, said the IAS officer.

YCPA president RK Memcha presided over the celebration which was also attended by Imphal East ZP up-adhakshya Kshetrimayum Tama and cop turned politician Thounaojam Brinda.
