FPC decries 'rude conduct' of Agri director

Imphal, September 08 2022: Mangjil Agro Farmers' Producer Company Limited has strongly condemned the agriculture director for throwing out an application submitted seeking urea for farmers under the company.

Addressing a press meet in this regard at Manipur Press Club here on Thursday, FPC chairman Meitram Kesho said that the FPC is a farmers' company sponsored by NABARD and promoted by ICAR-KVK.

Every year, the company seeks urea from the department for distribution among its members.

This year too, they approached the agriculture director on July 6.After getting no response from the director, they met the agriculture minister on July 30 and the minister wrote a letter to the district agriculture officer for providing area to the company.

The company, after completing all official formalities, approached the director on Thursday but the director threw the file stating that he cannot provide urea for farmlands where crops have already been harvested.

They made another request citing the hardships of the farmers but the director again flung the file at them while denying provision of urea, he said.

Condemning the director for his rude behaviour, he drew attention of the chief minister and the agricul ture minister to look into the matter.
