Mahila Sangit showcases 'Mathura Viraha'

Kakching, August 08 2024: Mahila Sangit Association (MSA) Kakching's new presentation 'Mathura Viraha' was showcased at Radha Govinda Mandap, Kakching Khunyai Leikai on Thursday.

Sivakumar Memorial Music College, Kakching principal Dr Shrimayum Nabakumar, scholar & cultural activist Naorem Chandramani, and Kakching Higher Secondary School principal Naorem Nomita attended the event as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

According to MSA secretary M Sanatombi, the play was produced under the Cultural Function and Production Grant Scheme (CF-PGS) of the ministry of culture.

The drama is played by dance instructor of MSA and Kids Cultural Centre, Kakching, Mayanglambam Bijaya and her students.

Naorem Chandramani adapted the play from the Bhakti Raas chapter of Shreemad Bhagawat Mahapuran.

Theatre director KB Sharma designed and wrote the screenplay, while Kakching Dramatic Union's director Mayanglambam Naran directed the play.

A two minutes' silence was also observed in honour of those who sacrificed their lives for protecting Manipur.
