JTSA calls 72-hr NH 37 shutdown

Joint Tribe Students' Association (JTSA) has called for 72 hours shutdown along NH 37 and national projects in connection with the National Sports University construction site issue.
A press release issued by JTSA secretary Masanbou Thiumai informed that Konsakhul Area Joint Action Committee (KAJAC) had served several ultimatums to the state government regarding the issue of site for National Sports University.
It said that the state government failed to address the grievances of the public of the area despite serving several ultimatums.
JTSA also stated that KAJAC is clear in its stand for rechristening the university as National Sports University, Konsakhul.
It also said that KAJAC is left with no option and is compelled to move on with democratic agitation by blocking the NH 37 and shutting down all national projects under its jurisdiction with effect from midnight of December 8 .
The government shall be held responsible for any untoward incident during the course of shutdown, it added.
