SUK cautions election candidates

Urging all those who are preparing to contest the upcoming election to consider the sentiments of people while holding election campaigns, Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) has cautioned of social boycott if they hurt the sentiments of the people.
Speaking to media persons at its office, SUK president Dhanakumar Ningthouja contended that intoxicating the youth to lure them by the candidates has led to escalation of poll-related violence in the state.
While urging the people not to indulge in ad dictive substances during election, Dhanakumar said that intoxicating the people has caused hatred and violence among the people.
The union might even take up actions like social boycott of the candidates if such acts continue acts, he reiterated.
He also proposed conduct of discussion and debate in electing good candidates.
