L Rameshor Meetei extends monetary aid to ASHA workers

Deputy Chairman of Manipur State Planning Board and MLA of Keirao Assembly Constituency, Lourembam Rameshor Meetei started giving monetary aid of Rs 2000 each to Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) of the constituency in an event held at his residence at Kyamgei Mamang Leikai adhering to Covid SOPs today.
He also distributed face masks, face shields, hand sanitizers and edible items to ASHAs apart from the monetary aid.
Speaking on the occasion, L Rameshwor said that ASHAs are working as frontline workers amid the crucial period of the ongoing second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
ASHAs are handing over the medicines provided by the Government and oxymeters to COVID-19 patients by going to their residences, he added.
He continued that with an aim to motivate the ASHAs for their commendable work during the ongoing pandemic, he took up the initiative of giving Rs 2000 each to them from his salary in addition to the honorarium provided by the Government to ASHAs.
On the other hand, he appealed to all the Covid positive persons of Keirao A/C to stay at the CHIC opened at Keirao Wangkhem instead of opting for home isolation.
Food is being provided in the CHIC and the centre has more than 20 oxygen cylinders, he stated.
Lastly L Rameshwor appealed to all to contact the Covid Task Force of Keirao A/C if anyone is yet to receive the vaccine and to get tested if there are any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 .
