Mass COVID-19 vaccination drive / awareness campaign begins in Ukhrul town

Ukhrul, June 28 2021: The first phase of mass covid-19 vaccination drive cum awareness campaign for Ukhrul town began today at Rashing Hall Awungtang, Ukhrul.

It is a month-long COVID -19 immunization programme which would cover the whole Ukhrul town in a phase wise manner.

During the programme, the medical team highlighted the immediate need of Covid-19 vaccination and also emphasized on the benefits of timely immunization to prevent the people from the disease.

Meanwhile, according to the reports of Ukhrul District Hospital (UDH), 103 persons were vaccinated on the first day including 47 female and 56 male.

Out of which, 77 persons were in the age group 18-44 years.

Dr Kapangring CMO, Ukhrul informed that the mass Covid-19 vaccination drive cum awareness campaign in Ukhrul town would be held in phase manner while adding that the first phase would cover 10 localities of Ukhrul town.

The second phase would be conducted in the Southern part of Ukhrul town.

According to UDH records, more than 11,000 persons have been vaccinated so far from Ukhrul district.

The COVID-19 vaccination cum awareness campaign was organised by Ukhrul District Hospital to ensure total vaccination in Ukhrul District.
