Allowance distributed to differently-abled persons

Imphal, September 25 2021: NPP Manipur State general secretary (Organisation) and intending candidate of the party from Kshetrigao AC Sheikh Noorul Hassan distributed allowance to differently-abled persons living in the AC.

Speaking at the distribution function held at his Top Khongnangmakhong, Kshetri Awang Leikai on Saturday, Noorul Hassan informed that 84 differently abled persons are living in 17 polling stations of Kshetrigao AC.

Government has taken up various schemes for differently abled persons but they are yet to enjoy full benefits of these schemes as well as rights entitled to them and hence these special sections of the society are unable to live on their own without depending on others, he said, adding that elected representatives of Kshetrigao AC in the past as well as the incumbent one are unable to ensure optimum benefits of government schemes to differently abled persons.

Differently abled persons are facing difficulties in their own survival due to lack of physical, financial and educational support.

This prompted him to launch a scheme so as to provide Rs 1000 as allowance to them every month.

Apart from this, housing scheme for differently abled persons will be initiated from the month of October this year till 2024 .

If elected in the upcoming 2022 election, an institute would be established in Kshetrigao AC by 2023 so that different abled persons of the constituency could stand on their own feet, he added.
