Kakching, July 23 2024: A playground newly developed at Khiiriibung Japhou village in Chandel district under the MP Local Area Development Fund 2022-23 has been inaugurated by Chandel deputy commissioner Mayanglambam Rajkumar on Tuesday.

The inauguration function cum blessing programme organised by Japhou Village Authority (JVA) was attended by DC Rajkumar as chief guest, Chandel ADC ex-member Sh Manglem Monsang as functional president and SUR president Ng Benithan Monsang as guest of honour, while Japhou Baptist Church (JBC) pastor reverend K Kumar was present as blessing minister and Japhou village chief W Hemasing Monsang and Japhou Youth Youth Club president Dr W Somie as chief hosts.

The programme was also attended by JVA secretary Ng Longly as moderator while JBC deacon Sh Beningdeen performed the opening prayer.

An exhibition football match between JYC and Khiiriibung was also played as part of the event.

In his address, M Rajkumar thanked the people for their contribution in smooth implementation of the project under the Local Area Development Fund, and assured that more such development works would be taken up in the area.
