Street light theft resurfaces in Moreh

Moreh, April 23 2022:
After similar incidents reported a couple of years back, a new wave of solar street light theft has emerged in the border town of Moreh of late.
Due to the recent theft spree, residents in the border town are worried that the 60 solar street lights, which were installed by the state government through MANIREDA in and around Moreh town would vanish in no time.
These thieves left only the pole as they steal solar plates, battery and LED bulbs from different parts of the town.
Local youth are now keeping night vigil in different localities in a bid Taking serious note of the situation, Meetei Council Moreh president M Thoiba has drawn attention of the government and its authority concerned to look into the matter.
He also opined that police should carry out night patrol to check such incidents.
