Loteeka to contest 2022 polls in Uripok AC

Imphal, December 22 2021: BJP Manipur Pradesh Mahila Morcha president L Loteeka Leima has announced her decision to contest the 2022 state assembly election from Uripok assembly constituency.

Making the announcement in a press meet held at her Uripok Achom Leikai residence on Wednesday, Loteeka said that BJP will field candidates in all the 60 assembly constituencies and she took the decision to contest the election following encouragement by the party leaders as they strongly believe in women empowerment through participation in decision making bodies.

She further said that her parents were also BJP members and she had conducted campaign for women's participation in electoral politics for which the party leaders encouraged her to contest the polls.

Though some might say that her decision is late but she believes in her past activities as one of the chief functionaries of the party, which is no less than poll campaign activities.

She called for public support so that she could bring up issues pertaining to women in the assembly and contribute in addressing them effectively.
