CMO hosts awareness programme

Senapati, July 21 2022:
An awareness programme on "The role of Pharmacists in controlling and selling of drugs in consonance with the healthcare of the community" was held yesterday at the conference hall of Chief Medical Officer, Senapati.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pfokreho Pfoze, Chief Medical officer, Senapati welcomed all the pharmacy owners and trained pharmacists of Senapati district.
He stressed on the importance of rules and regulations of the Pharmacy Act.
Y Ronen Singh, Drug Inspector, Medical Directorate, Health Services enlightened the gathering on the importance of correct dosages of medicine and role of pharmacists in eradicating dreaded diseases like Tuberculosis.
He also elaborated about the penalties including prison term and monetary fine for opening pharmacies without Licence under the Pharmacy Act.

Drug Inspector Senapati urged all the pharmacy owners to remain in legal domain and contribute their best for the betterment of public health RK Basumani, president State Pharmacy Council; and Elozia-a.representative of Senapati District Registered Pharmacists Association also spoke on the occasion.
