Kakching, April 20 2022:
After a team of Singjamei 360 informed about a male Slowloris straying into residential areas of Sabungkhok Khunou Awang Leikai in Yaingangpokpi, Joint Coordination Committee on Wildlife & Biodiversity (JC-CWB) on Wednesday picked up the animal and released it at Irilbung Nongmaiching range after giving necessary treatment.
The Slowloris was released in the presence of JCCWB convenor Romesh Ningthoujam, co-convenor Ksh Johnson, United Goodwill Mission Manipur executive member Priya Ningthoukhongjam, Irilbung PS SI L John and Irilbung BO staffers.
Speaking in this regard, Romesh noted that the incident of straying wild animals into residential areas is not the first time in the state and such increasing trend could be due to negligence by the department concerned.
Romesh urged the government to give attention towards saving wild life and preservation of environment.
