Imphal, December 19 2021: Manipur Government Services' Federation (MGSF) has convened a conference of all government employees covered under National Pension System (NPS) and contract employees at Pensioners Shanglen, Pishumthong on December 25.A release by Federation general secretary Purujit Lairikyengbam said that the conference would figure discussions on NPS, resolutions adopted at a national workshop on National Pension Scheme (NPS) and Outsource Employment held on December 11 and 12 in Bangalore under the aegis of All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF).It said two MGSF representatives namely Laimayum Ishwarjit Sharma and Laimapokpam Dhanajit who are president and vice-president respectively of All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association, took part in the national workshop.

In the meeting, it was resolved to stop NPS and outsource employment and instead restore the old pension system.

It also resolved to urge the central and state governments on this regard, the release said, adding that a nationwide strike under AISGEF will be launched on February 23 and 24, 2022 .
