BEG aids IDPs, calls for using local products

Imphal, November 18 2023: Business Excellence Group (BEG) extended assistance to displaced people living at the pre-fabricated housing complex in Sajiwa on Saturday and interacted with them.

The team used local handloom products as relief materials.

Talking to the media, BEG president Wangkheimayum Bikram expressed concern solution continuing to elude the humanitarian crisis which has crossed six months.

Sharing the pains of the people, who have lost their homes, properties, near and dear ones, he expressed that as the crisis has seriously affected economy of the state, people should refrain from engaging in activities, which will further aggravate the economic situation.

Pointing out how the crisis has affected people from different walks of life, Bikram said that a recent survey by BEG revealed the impact of the crisis on the women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel, which is considered the backbone of the state's economy.

He then called upon the people of the state to use local products as much as possible while helping the displaced people so that the generous act of reaching out to the people in need also improve the local economy.
