Imphal, July 16 2024: State award for handicraft presented every year by the Directorate of Handloom & Textiles, have been presented to eight craftsmen.

Recipients of the awards for the year 2024 include K Vareignam (black pottery) of Nungbi Khullen, Ukhrul; Konsam Padmini (terracotta) of Thoubal Achouba; Nongthombam Manibala (embroidery) of Wabagai Keirak Mayai Leikai; Nongyaimayum Arabjan (Chumthang craft) of Mayang Imphal Bengun; Chongtham Loyalakpi Chanu (traditional jewellery) of Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak; Pukhrambam Ibeyaima (Kouna craft) of Kakching Paji Leikai; Rajkumari Sarda Devi (Kouna craft) of Kakwa Nameirakpak Leikai; and Angom Anita (artistic textile) of Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak.

The awards carrying Rs 1 lakh, citation and shawl each were presented during the mega distribution event held at City Convention Centre on July 11 .
