Imphal, December 10 2021: Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution minister Th Satyabrata Singh has greeted the people of Manipur on the glorious and historic Nupi Lal Day, which is observed in the state every year on December 12 .

In his message, minister Th Satyabrata said Nupi Lal was a turning point in the history of Manipur sowing the seeds of economic and political reforms.

He also urged the general public to remember the spirit and courage of the Manipuri women who valiantly fought against the British forces in the two Nupi Lal of 1904 and 1939 on this year's 82nd observance of the historic uprisings.

On the other hand, as per a public notice issued by Imphal West deputy commissioner Th Kirankumar the western portion of the road from General Post Office Imphal to Governor Crossing will remain closed on December 12 from 7 to 11 am, till the completion of function and for dismantling the stage set up for the Nupi Lal Day observance.

The eastern portion of the said road will remain open, it said and regretted inconveniences caused to the public.
