CM petitioned to address doctors' grievances

Imphal, September 07 2021:
While contending that doctors in the state are deprived of various fundamental and basic rights, All Manipur Health Services Doctors' Association (AMHSDA) submitted charter of demands to the chief minister.
Among others, in its petition submitted on August 24, the Association demanded time-bound promotion of at least 3-4 promotions in their service career.
Regardless of the doctors relied upon for increasing life expectancy and well-being of the society their rights continued to be ignored or managed by wrong system, the Association mentioned and proposed creation of four posts of director for Health, Family Welfare, Public Health and Medical Education.
It also demanded inclusion of NPA at 20 per cent basic pay in fixation with effect from January 1, 2016 'carried notionally' to March 31, 2019 and payment of arrears thereafter with effect from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2021 .
The demands include revocation of service superannuation of specialist at 62 years, which was rolled back from 65 years in 2020, and reinstate as per DP & Administrative Reforms order of August 30, 2017 and define emoluments as per the Rule 33 of Manipur Civil Services of Pension Rules of 1977 .
