Imphal, October 29 2024: Parents of a class XI student, whose earring was allegedly removed and discarded by the school secretary, have appealed to the public not to politicise the incident.

EK Higher Secondary School, Sangakpham secretary Pangeijam Saratchandra is accused of forcibly removing the earring of a student and discarding it.

Following the incident, the parents filed a police complaint, leading to the arrest of Saratchandra.

Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Tuesday, Konsam Subol, who is father of the studentin question, of Laipham Khunnou Mamang Leikai, stated that his son is a Class XI Arts stream student of the School.

On September 23, Saratchandra forcibly removed the earring and discarded it.

The next day, Subol lodged a complaint with the school authorities, but no apology was tendered by the secretary.

Consequently, a complaint was filed at Heingang Police Station, resulting in Saratchandra s arrest.

He appealed to all concerned that the incident should not be politicised under any circumstances.
