Public meet boycotts rapist father

Thoubal, August 28 2022: Wangmataba Youth Club (WYC) Thoubal convened a public meeting at the ground of the Club on Sunday and announced boycott of a man from Thoubal Wangmataba Mayai Leikai, who has been accused of repeatedly raping his own daughter since 2016 .

The meeting was convened over the death of the girl, who attempted suicide by consuming poison on July 31 and later succumbed due to kidney failure.

The gathering shouted various slogans and also adopted several resolutions such as boycott of the accused and his family; no attendance at any incident related to the family; and for the local Singlup, religious personalities and others to shun the family, including those households found providing refuge to the accused family.
