KCC campaign organised in Thoubal

Thoubal, November 26 2021: The first district level Special KCC Campaign organised by joint director of district veterinary office, Thoubal was held at Mini Secretariat Complex, Thoubal on Friday.

Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subhash, district fishery officer Kh Ibetombi, district veterinary office joint director Dr RK Khogendrajit and LDM (Thoubal) Thuamjamug Tunglut attended the campaign as the presidium members.

Addressing the gathering, DC Sub-hash said that Kishan Credit Card was introduced in 1998 for providing small interest loan to beneficiary farmers with the objective to help them in ensuring good crop production.

However, failure to repay the loan taken became a trend and the scheme failed to realise its objective.

He then appealed to the farmers to avail benefit of the financial assistance and also to keep the habit of repaying loan in time.

Earlier, the loan was extended to farmers in agriculture and horticulture sector only but it has now covered fishery and veterinary & animal husbandry as well following instructions from the central government.

Similar campaigns will be organised in different parts of the district every Friday for three months, except for holidays in which case the programme will be held on either Thursday or Saturday.

He will personally assess all the applicants and approve them, the DC said, while adding that that there will be no unreasonable rejection.
