FOCS distributes fertilizers

Imphal, July 23 2024: Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, distributed around 400 bags of urea fertilizer to farmers of Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou village on Tuesday.

During the distribution event, FOCS president Th Manihar expressed concern that the prevailing unrest situation has forced farmers to abandon agricultural activities as many paddy fields are located in red zone areas.

While opining that rice production in the state is likely to fall this season in addition to farmers apprehensive about shortage of fertilizers due to inconveniences faced by drivers on the national highways, Manihar said FOCS with the support of Agriculture Department decided to provide fertilizers to the farmers to mitigate at-least some of the problems.

He also expressed hope that the Agriculture Department would continue to offer support in the future.
