Foundation laid for Uyumpok Bailey bridge

Imphal, September 20 2021: Khundrakpa'm MLA Th Lokeshwar laid the foundation.stone for construction of a Bailey bridge over Iril river at Uyumpok village under Khundrakpam assembly constituency on Monday.

The Bailey bridge to be constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) will connect Uyumpok and Lamboi Khun.

The bridge is to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 511.78 lakh and is targeted for completion by March 2022."After laying the foundation stone, Lokeshwar said that efforts to construct the bridge remained futile for a long time due to various reasons but the bailey bridge will be constructed with fund from PMGSY now.

He also appealed to local people to extend help to contractor and engineers so that the bridge could be completed in time.
