AR units promote Covid Appropriate Behaviour

Imphal, May 20 2021:
In view of increasing cases of Covid-19 across the country and in the state, Tengnoupal Battalion promoted Covid Appropriate Behaviour at Khudengthabi Village on Thursday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the unit explained the significance of social distancing, proper sanitization, maintaining hygiene and prompt actions to be taken in case the health of an individual deteriorates.
The event culminated with distribution of sanitizers, masks and ration to villagers.
Khoupum Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 21 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) also organised awareness drive on COVID appropriate behaviour and to educate and empower locals in fighting the pandemic at Nungba Village, Noney district on Thursday.
During the campaign announcements were made through loud hailers in the local language to make people aware of the importance of COVID appropriate behaviour such as regular hand washing, wearing of face mask, social distancing and vaccination.
According to a release, essential medicines and face masks were also distributed as a part of the campaign held with strict adherence to prescribed safety protocols.
The Battalion's helpline number was also made know to the locals so as to ensure necessary assistance during the pandemic.
