IBSD signs MoU with CDFD Hyderabad

Institute of Biore sources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal has signed a memorandum of understanding with Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad for research on DNA fingerprinting and genomics of medicinal plants of North Eastern Region.
According to an IBDS release, CDFD, Hyderabad is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and computing infrastructure for research and development in frontier areas of modern biology and DNA fingerprinting of plants.
IBSD has been working on documentation, evaluation and validation of traditional practices and development of bioresources of NER under the leadership of its Imphal director Prof Pulok K Mukherjee.
IBSD has already signed MoUs with many institutes for human resource development and to enhance the research activities in this region, informed the release, adding that the MoU was signed in the presence of CDFD director Dr K Thangaraj, scientists and staff from both the institutes.
