PRO tells success tale of recruitment programme

Informing that the Assam Rifles, through its efforts to train and prepare candidates for recruitment into the Armed Forces, has created opportunities for numerous young individuals in the state to secure a promising future, PRO IGAR (S) stated that in 2024, the Assam Rifles (South) introduced an initiative to equip local youth for recruitment into Agniveer, SSC (GD), and Territorial Army.
Despite the socio-political challenges in the region, the programme achieved significant results.
For Agniveer recruitment, 445 candidates were sponsored, of whom 218 underwent coaching, resulting in 120 successful candidates and a pass percentage of 27 per cent.
In SSC (GD), 436 candidates were sponsored, with 294 receiving coach ing, leading to 102 candidates qualifying, achieving a pass percentage of 23 per cent.
For Territorial Army Recruitment, 170 candidates were sponsored, 182 received coaching, and 58 successfully qualified, reflecting a pass percentage of 34 per cent.
The release attributed these success results to the Assam Rifles' meticulously crafted training programmes, includ ing physical training, weapon familiarization, psychological preparation, and general knowledge (GK).
These programmes build endurance, strength, agility, and mental preparedness, while providing high-quality study materials and coaching to cover syllabus requirements.
Training was made accessible across districts like Imphal East, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur, and Chandel, with both short-term crash courses and long-term programmes.
Under the guidance of expert trainers known for their commitment and precision, candidates received personalised attention and hands-on preparation.
Despite the region's volatile socio-political environment, the Assam Rifles ensured secure venues, uninterrupted training, and the safety of candidates, even in remote areas, detailed the PRO in a release.
