Farmers' training programme conducted

Horticulture and Soil Conservation Moreh, Tengnoupal district Walnut Development officer Mutum Nabachandra and his staff organised a one day district level farmers' training programme at Deputy Commissioner Tengnoupal office and also distributed horticulture inputs to select farmers on Monday.
The programme was attended by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Thoubal former SMS Dr M Thoiba, Haolenphai village chief Lankholun Haokip and Motha village chief Molun as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, Mutum Nabachandra explained that the training programme was initiated to enhance production of horticulture products by farmers of Tengnoupal district.
On the sidelines of the programme, horticulture inputs under Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) projects were distributed to farmers of Tengnoupal village for 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.The inputs included water pumps, sprinkler set, sprayers, organic pesticide, tools and kits, vermicompost, honeybee box and honeybee extractor.
As the resource person, Dr M Thoithoi talked about the ways to use the distributed inputs.
