Catholic, CBSE schools under MEELAL scanner

Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has stated that they will keep an eye on Catholic and CBSE schools to check whether Meetei Mayek is taught appropriately in these schools.
In a release, MEELAL publicity secretary Soibam Arun Meetei expressed concern over lack of participation from the aforementioned schools in the Meetei Mayek competition conducted on July 14 in six districts including Jiribam with participation by around 10,000 students.
A series of talk with school authorities has begun, he continued, while adding that they will closely monitor activities of schools that do not impart proper lesson on Meetei Mayek.
Moreover, schools teaching Meetei Mayek in violation of the rules and regulations as published in Manipur Gazette will also be examined, he maintained.
While lauding students, parents and school authorities for making the Meetei Mayek competition held in 38 centres successful, he informed that the winners will be announced within August 15 and the prize distribution ceremony held on its 22nd foundation day on August 18 .
