Thoubal, January 16 2025: Folk artistes of the state, who topped in the Group Folk Song competition at the National Youth Festival 2025 organised by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from January 10 to 12 were honoured in a function organised by District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer (DYASO), Thoubal at its Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex office.

The felicitation programme was attended by DYASO, Thoubal Deven Moirangthem, DYASO, Bishnupur Y Ibeyaima Devi and Physical Education senior lecturer Manao Singh as presidium members.

Delivering the keynote address, Deven Moirangthem expressed elation that the folk artistes of Manipur brought honour to the state, standing out among artistes from several larger states of India.

This clearly demonstrates that, although small, Manipur has been excelling not only in sports but also in culture.
